Maximising Your Kitchen Storage
If you are like most people, you likely feel like you never have enough storage space in your kitchen. The key to maximising your kitchen storage comes down to enhancing your current storage and utilising the free space we all have within our kitchen.
Use Your Cupboard & Pantry Doors.
One of the things that you will want to do when you are looking to increase the amount of space that you have in your kitchen to store things would be to use the doors in your kitchen. You likely have a lot of different doors that you are not using. By using storage baskets or even attaching hooks to your doors, you will be able to create a lot of room to store things that you wouldn’t normally be able to. Therefore, you should be able to cut down a lot of the drawer space that you would otherwise be using.
Rack and Stack.
If you are really looking to open up the amount of space that you are going to be able to use to store things, you will want to consider installing racking or shelving. Having pots, plates, bowls take up a lot of your cabinet space is not ideal. Instead, you could simply install a shelving rack these items won’t get in your way and the bonus is you will be able to see exactly what you are looking for without having to remove half the contents of the cupboard every time.
Hooks and Holders
You might want to consider installing hooks or holders on your walls. By using these, you will be able to take full advantage of the vertical space that you will be creating and opening up. Taking advantage of storing things on your walls is going to help free up the available space that you will be able to use in your cupboards and draws.
Carts and Shelving.
You can increase your bench storage by using shelving to store your kitchen appliances like microwaves, rice cookers and slow cookers. By lifting these items off the bench, you use the space which was previously going to waste above them and freeing up the all important bench space.
Storage carts can also be used in pantries, you could store your potatoes and other root vegetables separately in each draw. Storage carts would also be suitable to store bulk dry ingredients such as floor and rice.
Overall, there is a lot that you can do when you are looking to increase the amount of space that you have available in your kitchen. By being creative and by using things that aren’t be used currently, you should be able to free up a lot of space that you would otherwise not be using.
Being able to take advantage of underused space is the key to saving the most space in your kitchen. You want to take the bulkiest things that you have in your kitchen and find ways to get them out of your cupboards because they are likely taking up a full cupboards on their own. By utilising racks or adding shelving, you should be able to do just that.
